Phwef! Well we made it!! Finally the last day of school for the kiddos has arrived. Not sure who is more relieved, them or me! This year has been another hectic one, especially during the spring…even though we vowed to take it easier this year than last and learn a lesson from last spring’s chaos. Why does that never seem to work out? Somehow the commitments and kids’ activities creep up on you and pretty soon the calendar is overbooked again. But all of that is behind us now, at least for the next couple of months while we start the big kick off to summer.
It’s been a challenge juggling work and home, kids and activities but we are finally only days away from a much needed summer break. Ironically, for the next 48 hours I will be running flat out and it will be super hectic prepping everything ready to leave…but once we are off, it will be a blissful week of rest and relaxation!

One of our favourite things to do as a family is to go camping. Getting out of the city and getting up close to nature…hiking, biking and camp fires…it’s great to see how we all recharge when we unplug from the rest of the world. Now I won’t pretend to be tough and rough it or anything, I like my creature comforts too much for that! No, tomorrow we will be heading west, with our RV in tow, and are spending a week in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Here is a quick look at bits of my busy week.
